Corian® has partnered with Heineken® to provide premiere material solutions for its "Pop-up City Lounge".
This exciting new lounge bar concept is Heineken’s® latest iteration of ‘social design explorations’ and was created in a collaboration between the beer brand and 20 talented interior, product, fashion, graphic, and motion designers, from Warsaw, New York, Mexico City and Singapore. It consists of two 40-foot shipping containers, which have been repurposed with a creative and considered design into multiple lounge spaces, including a series of different sized ‘conversation cocoons’ where groups of friends can enjoy privacy, attentive table service, surprising hoptails and exciting intriguing dishes.
The design has been realised with the support of Corian®, which has contributed furnishing elements to the ‘Heineken® Pop-Up City Lounge’. Corian® high-tech surface, an advanced design material, was chosen by Heineken® for its versatility and sophisticated aesthetic and tactile qualities. The design also adopts a brand new black colour of Corian® made with an innovative manufacturing process called DeepColour™ Technology* which enables DuPont to produce advanced materials superior performance for interior design applications requiring dark colours.
Furthermore, the lounge features - as the first appearance in a public use environment - the combination of Corian® advanced surfaces with wireless power for smartphone recharging in public spaces, a solution ideal for this powerfully emerging consumer demand.
