Cavigar Designs the New Reception of the Hotel dei Gonzaga in Mantova
Hotel dei Gonzaga, part of the Mantegna hotel group, greets guests with an exquisite blend of sophistication, functionality, and bespoke design. The reception area, meticulously conceived and crafted by Cavigar, serves not only as a focal point but also as the heart of an unforgettable welcoming experience, designed to leave a lasting impression from the very first glance.
At the forefront of this stunning space is a monolithic reception desk made from Corian® White Onyx. This contemporary and noble material was chosen for its exceptional aesthetic and performance qualities. The desk surface features an exclusive decorative design created by Cavigar’s technical team, sculpted meticulously to resemble a bas-relief. This intricate design highlights the natural veining of the Corian®, engaging visitors with a captivating play of light and shadow that defines the space’s identity.
Recognizing the importance of sustainability, Cavigar employed digital processing techniques that not only reduce waste but also optimize production processes. The low VOC content of the materials used contributes significantly to improving indoor air quality. Additionally, the integrated LED backlighting gracefully illuminates the desk, revealing its unique texture and transforming the surface into a visual and functional element.
Every aspect of the reception area is custom-made, with attention to detail that reflects artisanal craftsmanship. The Corian® components were produced by specialized workshops within the Corian® Quality Network Partner, in collaboration with Linea Pannelli, the official distributor of Corian® for Northern Italy. This ensures that the highest standards of quality and design are upheld throughout the project.
The reception’s design goes beyond aesthetics; it emphasizes the experience of hospitality. High-quality materials resistant to daily wear were meticulously chosen and crafted, supporting the operational needs of the reception area. The waiting area, intended for tourists during check-in and check-out, features an elegantly designed monolithic desk, showcasing multiple aesthetic and mechanical properties of the Corian® in the finished White Onyx.
The desk’s perimeter is backlit by LED lights that not only highlight its intricate texture but also add a warm ambiance to the space. The carved design, which winds along the Corian® veining, creates a striking interplay of solids and voids, reflections, and geometric patterns. This artistic detail captures the visitor’s attention and stands in harmonious contrast to the gray stone-effect flooring below.
