The hemodynamics department at the Pisa University Hospital (Cisanello) has taken advantage of the features of Corian® high-tech surface for the technical furnishing of its operating theatres. The hospital chose to work with the experience of Favero Health Projects – a company with over 30 years of specialisation in technical healthcare furnishing which supplied its new Praxis furniture line for operating theatres, made with Corian®.

The Praxis line optimises the design and hygienic properties of Corian® not only for surfaces but also for its doors and handles, a first in hospital furnishing. This new range has been designed to complete a superior offering for the healthcare sector. Other healthcare furnishing solutions from Favero featuring Corian® include the Alien® wall unit and the Zerofire® modular system.

Favero Health Projects has used its extensive healthcare furnishing knowledge to satisfy the demanding requirements of Pisa University Hospital for high-grade sterile environments – such as its critical hemodynamic rooms. The company specifies Corian® because it isa non-porous, seamless and easy-clean material that is resistant to bacteria and fungi and is easy to decontaminate, while being reliably durable and resistant to extreme conditions.

The hygienic performance of Corian® has been certified by important independent institutions (such as LGA QualiTest, NSF International and the Royal Institute for Public Health). Furthermore, Corian® is certified for indoor air quality by the American institute, GreenGuard®.
